This week, letâs talk about handmade gifts, the ones that carry stories, love, and creativity.
Weâve all made a gift that was extra special, whether it was for a birthday, holiday, wedding, or just because you wanted to surprise someone. Sometimes, those gifts mean as much to the person who made them as to the one who received them.
Letâs share:
Whatâs the most meaningful handmade gift youâve ever made or received**.
It could be:
A story about why it was special
A photo of the gift itself
A memory of the person who received it
Whether itâs big or small, simple or elaborate, weâd love to see how handmade creativity has brought joy to someoneâs life.
Reward

Letâs fill the community with heartfelt stories and meaningful creations.
Last Christmas, I created a fireplace ornament that wasnât just wood and engraving it was a piece of our family story. Each little name carved into it represents the heart and soul of our home. A fireplace has always meant warmth, love, and togetherness, and now our familyâs names sit right at its center, reminding us of those cozy moments we share.
Itâs not just an ornament itâs a keepsake. Every year when we hang it on the tree, it brings back memories of laughter, love, and what truly matters most: family.
Handmade gifts carry more than design they carry meaning, memory, and love. And this one will always be close to my heart.
One of the most meaningful pieces Iâve ever created is this folded flag ornament in honor of my father-in-law, a proud Vietnam War veteran. It was my way of keeping his memory alive and close to our hearts. Every detail of this design holds love, respect, and gratitude for his service and the legacy he left behind.
Hi everyone! One of my favorite handmade crafts was the stole/sash and graduation shirts I made for my second sonâs college graduation. As a proud mom of 6, I couldnât be more thrilled. He graduated from two colleges before high school at 16! He was the first in both my family and my husbandâs family to achieve this remarkable achievement. Two years later, he graduated from college with a major in psychology. I personalized his stole/sash and our familyâs shirts.
The funny part? My husband and I put on the shirts without realizing . I wore the âProud Dad of a Graduateâ shirt, and he wore the âProud Mom of a Graduateâ shirt! We took pictures, and the college even featured my design on their page. It wasnât until we reached the car on our way home that we realized the mix-up! I fixed the design on Canva, but you canât even tell from the photos!
The best gift I made was this coaster set for my cousins wedding. I cut out the box and the coasters with the iengrave. I keep looking at it in awe. The photos donât do it justice. I made two of each style coaster. I love my iengrave. Now we are heading out of town for the wedding and will be gone for five days. I canât figure out how Iâm going to not craft for that long!
I am still reallllly new to the (serious) gift making, so I made my momma a tumbler recently and I just love how it turned out! I think this is the favorite one Iâve made and I love the story behind it. Itâs a looong story so I canât post it here with the time crunch I have.
This was my first attempt at making a shadow box and I gave it as a gift to my daughter a few months before my first grandchild was born. For me, it was one of the most meaningful things Iâve ever done and given as a gift. This frame is far from perfect, but it carries a lot of meaning for me.
A couple years ago my best friend had to go out of the country because her dad had fallen and wanted to end his life (physician assisted suicide was allowed). After she got home I found this picture and I created this ornament for all of her siblings with silver vinyl and for her mom I did gold. I wanted them to have something to remember their father. I got a message from one of her siblings thanking me telling me how much they all loved it, and the one I made her mom was on the table at his celebration of life.
Iâve made it a point to give my children no matter how they come to me something crocheted by me. I adopted and then I had my first child.
My adopted daughters I got them at 1 and 2 I canât find the 1 year olds picture but one got a crocheted baby doll and this one wanted a pink and purple unicorn. She slept with it every night for 2 years. She would say mommy even when youâre gone I have our baby . Well they are 6 and 7 and they still carry them around
I think their transition was helped with their custom babies.
When my doll baby was conceived the moment I found out I was having her I started making her this little Pooh jacket and hat. The first outfit she put on was this custom onesie and crotchet outfit. Itâs not the most expensive but I cried many happy tears crocheting all these because prayers were being answered in every occasion
This is the first bag that I had ever made and the start of me making bags for my mom and making her so happy. She loves gifts and she also loves showing me off . Sheâs my biggest fan, so it meant a lot then and continues to mean the most.
One of the most thoughtful hand made items I ever got was a matter of timing and the unexpected and unknown. After my mother in laws celebration of life when I went to check the mail someone had placed a random act of art on it was paint samples cut to look like trees and decorated on a small wood square. It was the simple act of not expecting it and the simplicity of it that made it special I still have it. (From Dec 2018j
Then for what I have made theirs lots that has stories but like that pice of art I hold onto my favorite had made items are the ones they donât see comming. I like do what I called a random friendly mugging⌠I will make extra so sublimation coffee mugs or use tumblers I have done and the. Gift them to somone working especially at Christmas time when we go to my husbands dads gifting it to a person working on the holiday.
It was my first year with crafting and my friend who I met on social media was having hard times with her son being diagnosed with Autism so I wanted to gift her something to strengthen her whenever she sees it.
I made her this Cross Mandala and wrote a verse from the Holy Bible in ArabicâŚ
"The lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing"
(Psalm 23:1)
And she was overwhelmed when she saw it and it means so much to both of us to be able to support each other even if we didnât meet in real life.
