Crafting some candles with vinyl by Marin

Today I’m gonna share with you one of the hardest surface to apply vinyl on.

candles

I’m making Baptism candles and wanted to share the tutorial with you.
Let’s see what we need

Materials

:black_small_square:Cutting machine (I craft)
:black_small_square:Laptop / Tablet / mobile
:black_small_square:Software, Loklik idea studio
:black_small_square:Cutting sticky mat
:black_small_square:Vinyl
:black_small_square:Weeding tools
:black_small_square:Transfer tape
:black_small_square:Candle

If you like to decorate the candle then prepare the deco materials.

Now let’s go to the idea studio and start making the design.
I didn’t need much of elements all I needed was a cross which I found in the library once I wrote cross and found it.

I wrote the name and what’s needed then changed the font

After I chose a font I liked I had to combine it together and chose subtract crossover

Now as the font was too thin I made an offset
With 2.0 distance

Then I sorted my project into colors and adjusted the sizes.
Now let’s set our

Cut settings

As I’m using two different types of vinyl I needed two different types of settings
:black_small_square:Glossy permanent vinyl plastic career
:black_small_square:Chrome permanent vinyl

I cut every color separately

After the cutting process is finished let’s come to weeding
Actually the weeding was so smooth it took me seconds to weed

vinyl application

As I wanted to add some decorations I put the deco first so I could know the empty space I’m left with to apply my vinyl.

Then I took a piece of transfer tape stick it to my clothes to make it less sticky because it’s very difficult to transfer a vinyl onto a waxed surface
So I started one piece at a time

Now the trick is to remove the transfer tape very slowly and press the vinyl with your fingers to stick to the candle.
You can remove it from one side to the other so you can press every letter with your other hand / fingers

The cross I put it with my tweezers or even used my hands it was easy

Or you can also remove the transfer tape from the top again slowly slowly

Now you are left with this pretty elegant candle to celebrate your occasion

I’ve melted down the candle wax and filled up silicone molds to make candles. I have put foil on candles before.
